Description:
This is a IR remote controlled based Module which can add a remote control capabilty to your existing amplifer / preamplifier or any DIY design. This module can operate a high quality ALPS motorized RK168 Type Audio taper potentiometer, that can be installed into your circuit instead of the conventional manual volume pot. The module receives IR signals from the Supplied dedicated remote controller unit and inturn can operate the motorized pot. This module can also select any one out of the four stereo Audio inputs connected through high quality DPDT relays. The switched audio signal can be directly routed to the preamplifier board from the Input selection PCB. No electronic parts have been used in the audio path, which makes sure that audio signals are not altered in any way. The selected audio input Status is Indicated by individual LED's . These LED's can be mounted on the device's front panel and marked accordingly. The input selection can be done through the 1-4 marked buttons on the remote controller or by simply rotating the rotary encoder shaft in either direction. While the rotary encoder is used to select the audio inputs, pressing down its shaft along the central Axis can control the standby board for Power functions. The standby board acts as a power supply for the main controller board and also has a secondary function to switch the power supply to the main transformer. An audio mute function is also provided by this board, this is done by switching all the input selection relay's Off. In case of power faliure the MCU board remembers all the last settings and restores the audio input to the last selected. For connections please Refer to the Diagram below 

Mounting Details:
The RCA block PCB can be directly mounted on the rear panel using screws. The main board is mounted close to the front panel such that the IR receiver can receive the Remote control unit's IR signals through an opening provided on the front panel. Apart from the IR opening, 4 LED holes are required and two additional holes are required one each for the Motorized potentiometer and the rotary encoder. The rotary encoder can be placed on the Left while the Volume pot on the right side of the front panel the input selection LED's can be placed on the center.The RCA block PCB board , MCU board, the encoder and the Volume pot can be easily placed at any desired location, as these can be later on connected togther using the provided patch cables. The RK168 Potentiometer Provided with this has Not been soldered on to its PCB, This is because in certain installations the user wants the pot to be directly soldered on to the preamplifier board . In such cases a potentiometer extension rod is also need and is available seperately.
