Description:
The linear power supplies normally used in Audio Power amplifiers draw a very large but brief current when they are first turned on. This is due to the use of smaller magnetic cores inside the transformers which results in what is known as high 'inrush' current at power up.
 This large current can eventually damage the bridge rectifier and filter capacitors as well as produce a 'thump' in the speaker. 

This soft start circuit can be installed in the mains supply to an Audio Power Amplifier to address this problem. It will limit the initial current flow by using four robust NTC thermistors in series with the mains supply.

This high quality circuit board is controlled by a Microcontroller Based system. The microcontroller runs a very stable software which enables this board to be controlled by the comfort of an IR remote controller . The MCU board Compatible with this soft start board is avaliable seperatly and it comes with an IR remote controller. Also the MCU board is equipped with a manual start button which enables the soft start unit to be controlled by a manual front panel switch. This soft Start board has a high quality Sealed type tansformer that powers this board and as well as it can act as a PSU for the MCU board.

Please Note that This Soft Start System Can Only Be Used with a compatible Microcontroller Board and IR remote Control.
